‘Klinsmann’s 10-goal explosion against Tunisia and Vietnam’ rises to 24th in FIFA rankings! ‘Japan ranked 18th’

South Korea’s ranking in the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has risen.

FIFA released the rankings on its official website on Saturday, reflecting recent results. South Korea, led by Jürgen Klinsmann, moved up two spots to No. 24.

Klinsmann’s side defeated Tunisia 4-0 in an exhibition match at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on Sept. 13. Lee Kang-in scored his A-match debut goal and completed a multi-goal performance. He scored an own goal and a brace for Hwang Eui-jo.

They followed that up with a 6-0 win over Vietnam at the Suwon World Cup Stadium. Kim Min-jae, Hwang Hee-chan, Son Heung-min, Lee Kang-in, Jung Woo-young, and an own goal helped the team to a comfortable victory.

With the two wins in the two October A-Match trials, Klinsmann’s team moved up two spots in the FIFA rankings to No. 24.

Klinsmann’s men now head into the second round of Asian qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup North and Central America. Their first opponent is Singapore, with their last meeting being at the 1990 Beijing Asian Games. They have an absolute advantage in the all-time series with 22 wins, three draws and two losses.

This will be followed by a trip to China on July 21. Thailand will play back-to-back home and away matches in March 2024.

They will then travel to Singapore in June 2024 before welcoming China home.

Meanwhile, Japan secured back-to-back wins against Canada and Tunisia in October’s A matches. They are ranked as high as 19th in the FIFA rankings. 안전놀이터
