400SV spirit to disabled athletes, Oh Seung-hwan “looking forward to Shenzhen”
Samsung Lions pitcher Oh Seung-hwan cheers on athletes as they compete at the Hangzhou 2022 Para Asian Games (APG).
The Korean Paralympic team will compete at the APG in Hangzhou, China, from July 22-28. The team is sending 348 athletes (208 athletes) to compete in 21 sports, excluding visual soccer, with the goal of winning 39 gold medals and finishing fourth overall.
Ahead of the tournament, the athletes received an encouraging message from living legend Oh Seung-hwan of the Korean Baseball Organization (KBO). Seung-hwan Oh, who made KBO history by recording his 400th career save against the SSG Landers in Daegu on April 14, hopes to pass on this momentum to the Para athletes and see how they perform. 메이저놀이터
“As someone who has always been interested in Para sports, I sincerely wish the national athletes competing in the APG on the 22nd the best of luck,” said Oh. “I hope you will not only produce good results on the field as you have prepared hard, but also finish the competition without injury.”
Oh Seung-hwan has shown his interest and support for Para sports throughout his career. Appointed as an ambassador of the Korean Para Sports Federation in December 2016, he has donated a total of 94 million won ($95,000) in seven donations up until last year to foster athletes in basic sports. Ahead of the 2018 Pyeongchang Paralympics, he made a surprise visit to the wheelchair curling training center to cheer on the athletes.
On the morning of the 16th, the Paralympic team will depart from Incheon International Airport. They will hold a farewell ceremony before arriving in Hangzhou for the final competition later that day.
