‘What’s going on all of a sudden?’ Tonali-Zaniolo notified of investigation into alleged illegal betting
Two midfielders for the Italian national team have been investigated for illegal betting.
“The Turin Public Prosecutor’s Office has informed Tonali and Gianiolo, who are training at the Federal Technical Center of Coberciano, of the investigative action,” the Italian Football Federation announced on its official website on Wednesday. Two members of the Italian national team have been accused of betting at once.
The first was Juventus’ Niccolo Pioli. “Juventus midfielder Nicolo Fazio is under investigation for allegedly gambling on illegal online platforms,” Gianluca Di Marzio reported on November 11. He is the subject of an investigation by the Turin prosecutor’s office.”
Pazzioli is a midfielder who came up through the Juventus youth ranks. He joined the Juventus youth team in July 2015 and spent six years with the Bianconeri. After scoring three goals and providing five assists in 37 games across all competitions for Juventus last season, Pazzioli has started six games this season.
It didn’t end there. Tonali and Zaniolo were also investigated for illegal betting. “Zaniolo and Tonali were questioned by the authorities,” transfer market journalist Fabrizio Romano wrote on social media on Wednesday. They left the Italian national team’s training ground after speaking to the police,” the journalist wrote. 스포츠토토
Tonali was a beloved player during his time at AC Milan, where he was dubbed the “second Andrea Pirlo”. He joined AC Milan on loan from Brescia in September 2020 and completed his move in July 2021. Tonali starred for AC Milan last season with two goals and 10 assists in 48 official games. That earned him a €64 million ($908 million) move to Newcastle this summer.
Attacking midfielder Gianiolo is a former AS Roma player. He arrived from Inter Milan in July 2018 and spent four and a half years at the club. He suffered a major injury in September 2020 when he tore his cruciate ligament, but he overcame it. This season, he’s playing behind Unai Emery at Aston Villa.
