Heungkuk Life head coach Marcello Abodanza expects two veteran players, Kim Yeon-kyung and Kim Soo-ji, to lead the team in the new season.

Abondanza spoke to reporters ahead of the Dodram 2023-2024 V-League Women’s Media Day at the Rivera Hotel in Cheongdam on Wednesday about how the team has prepared for the new season. Abondanza is looking forward to the effectiveness of Kim Soo-ji’s signing and has a lot of faith in Kim Yeon-kyung.

Heungkuk Life completed its departure ceremony at its home stadium, Incheon Samsan Gymnasium, on the 9th. Heungkuk Life will play its first game of the 2023-2024 season away from home against Korea Expressway Corporation at Gimcheon Gymnasium on April 14.   • How well did you plan for the new season?

We trained a lot during the off-season, we prepared a lot and our understanding improved a lot. I think the players have grown a lot and will be able to show an improved level of volleyball.

  • The goal is to win the overall title. Are you confident?

If you look at the players, some are confident and some are not. The setters are still young. But I want to see them grow, that’s the goal 먹튀검증.

I think the mentality will be important. Last season, if you look back at the end, we didn’t even win a set with a three- or four-point lead.   • How does Kim manage her physical condition?

Kim may need time to find her rhythm. But she is a player with a level.

  • What are your expectations for Kim Soo-ji.

Kim Soo-ji, when she came to the team, she had surgery and started in a difficult environment. Even now, she’s not at 100 percent. I think it’s important for her to find her best form. Having experienced and tall players like Kim Yeon-kyung and Kim Soo-ji will help us a lot. It will be important for them to be at their best at key moments.

I trained a lot during the off-season. I’ve grown. I hope we can show a lot after the season starts.

My goal is to play general volleyball, defense and offense. I want to show that we play good volleyball overall.
