Yeongdeungpo Gongo, the first top of the High School Football League Wangjungwangjeon… This year’s three championships ‘stand tall’

Yeongdeungpo Gonggo has won the triple crown this year, as it topped the 2023 National High School Football League King of Kings and the 78th National High School Football Championship for the first time.

Led by head coach Kim Jae-woong, Yeongdeungpo Gonggo defeated Shinpyeong Go (Chungnam) 1-0 in the tournament final at Changnyeong Sports Park on Sept. 29. This is the first time Yeongdeungpo Gonggo has won the King of Kings.

With this victory, Yeongdeungpo Gonggo won the Wangjoong Wangjeon after winning the Baekwoongi in February and the Presidential Geumbae in August, making it the third national championship this year.

The National High School Football League Wangjoongwangjeon, held in Changnyeong-gun, Gyeongnam, on the 14th of this month, featured 64 teams that excelled in their respective regional leagues, including K League youth teams, high schools, and clubs. 바카라사이트

The final match between Yeongdeungpo Gonggo and Shinpyeong High School was the first time since 2016 that a high school team, rather than a K League youth team or club team, faced off against each other. Yeongdeungpo Gonggo won seven games in the group stage, while Shinpyeonggo reached the final with six wins and one draw.

In an epic final, Yeongdeungpo Gonggo secured a 1-0 victory in the 21st minute of the second half when Sun Ye-jun headed home a corner kick from Son Seung-min.

This is the second time Yeongdeungpo Gonggo has won both the Presidential Gold Medal and the King of Kings, organized by the Korea Football Association, in the same year after Pyeongtaek Jinwi FC last year.

The best player award went to Sun Ye-jun, who scored the winning goal in the final. Coach Kim Jae-woong received the best coach award.
